Crispy bread rolls made from mashed potatoes, mozzarella cheese and water soaked bread. An absolutely delicious starter.

- Boiled Potatoes 4 medium
- Bread Slices 8 crustless
- Mozzarella Cheese 1 1/2 cup grated
- Onion 1 large finely chopped
- Coriander Leaves 2 tablespoons chopped
- Green Chillies 2 chopped
- Chaat Masala or Black Salt 1 teaspoon
- Dry Mango Powder (Amchoor) 1.5 teaspoons
- Black Pepper Powder 1 teaspoon
- Cooking Oil Sufficient for deep frying
- Red Chilli Powder 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
Mash the boiled potatoes. Add chopped onions, coriander leaves, green chillies, grated mozzarella cheese, chaat masala (or black salt), dry mango powder, black pepper powder, red chilli powder and salt to taste and mix. The bread roll stuffing is now ready. Keep aside.
Soak each slice of bread, one at a time, in water for a few seconds seconds. Squeeze out water by pressing between palms. Place some of the stuffing in the center of the bread slice. Roll the two sides of the slice to cover the stuffing firmly. Ensure that the edges are well sealed. You may give any shape of your choice to the rolls – long or round.
Heat sufficient oil in a kadhai (pan) and deep-fry the bread rolls, on medium heat, till golden brown and crisp. Take the bread rolls out on a tissue paper so that the excess oil is drained.
Enjoy these bread rolls with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
Tip: Keep the stuffed rolls ready (till Step 2) before any party and just deep fry them and serve to your guests when they arrive. They are surely going to be delighted with the hot and crispy bread rolls! Serve with a cold drink or a hot cup of tea.
