Relish it with tomato ketchup, sambhar (yellow lentils) or just as is! This dish is a hit with the kids!
Fried Idli is also a superb option to create out of the left over Idlis (Rice Cakes) or you can buy ready made Idlis (Rice Cakes) from an Indian/South Indian store and fry them using this recipe.

Frying Time 5-7 minutes
Main Ingredient Idli
Level Of Cooking Easy
- Idlis (Rice Cakes) 8
- Ghee (Clarified Butter) or Cooking Oil 2 tablespoons
- Mustard Seeds 1 teaspoon
- Pav Bhaji Masala 1
- Black Pepper Powder a pinch
- Red Chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon (or more, as per your preference)
- Salt to taste
Dice the Idlis (Rice Cakes) to bite-size pieces.
Heat a nonstick pan. Put Ghee (Clarified Butter) or Cooking Oil. Once warm, put the mustard seeds (you can cover the pan with a lid after putting the mustard seeds for a few seconds when they start spluttering). Now put the diced Idlis (Rice Cakes) and toss a few times. Add the pan bhaji masala, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and salt and mix well. Fry till the Idlis (Rice Cakes) get golden marks. Turn off the fire. Serve hot!
