Here’s a traditional Indian summer drink for you all. This drink is believed to guard against heat stroke. It is brilliant for people having acidity concerns too.
Wood Apple Cooler (Bael Ka Sharbat) was an everyday drink for us during summers back in India. I am so glad that Mom brought these for us from India during her trip to Singapore this time and this is her recipe that I am sharing with you all today. I am so sure you all are going to love it.
Here’s the step by step recipe;
Preparation Time 5-10 minutes
Making Time 4-5 minutes
Servings 3 Big Glasses
Main Ingredient Wood Apple (Bael Fruit)
Main Equipment Strainer
Level Of Blending Medium
- Wood Apple (Bael) 1
- Sugar to taste (if required)
- Chilled Water
- Ice Cubes a few
Fill up the bowl with 2 glasses of chilled water. Mash the pulp so that it completely dissolves into the water.
Now using a strainer strain the entire pulpy wood apple (beal) juice into a large bowl. Press the pulp completely with hands or spatula to extract the juice fully. Discard the seeds and fibre left in the strainer. Add some ice cubes in the bowl.
Add a few spoons of sugar to taste (if required) and adjust the consistency of the juice/sharbat by adding some more chilled water (if required) and stir well.
The absolutely refreshing Wood Apple Cooler (Bael Ka Sharbat) is ready and I am so glad to take it to Angie’s Fiesta Friday #71 which is co-hosted by the very talented Jhuls and Laurie. Do join us at the party!
